Marché Mövenpick is a market-style eatery one door south of the Hotel Victoria, just inside the spectacular Brookfield Place and under the famous six-story parabolic ceiling.

A Toronto landmark

When the Marché opened in the early 1990s, it was a Mövenpick concept that hadn’t been tried in Toronto. It started with great fanfare; lineups down the Brookfield Place (then called the BCE Place) hallway all the time. Then it dried up, like it was a fad that had its time. Rumours circled Toronto that Marché was going to close, but they weathered the storm and now marketplace eating is back in style, and no one in town does it better than the Marché.

When you arrive, you’re given a swipe card and you go find yourself a table in one of the unique eating rooms that surround the marketplace. Then you can visit as many of the eight food stations as you like; Italian, Asian, Grill, Seafood, Green Island, Fruit Island, Beverage Bar, and Café; trading a swipe for things like fresh-made rosti potatoes and pastas, oysters, beer and wine, a great selection of veggies and salads, grilled fish and meats, burgers, waffles and crepes, juices, mouth-watering desserts, and so much more, including a kids menu.

You’ll find lunch specials, game-day specials, coffee and dessert specials, Sunday/Monday specials and monthly specials.

Morning at the Marché

When our guests ask us where to start their days, we’ll always recommend the Marché breakfast menu. Their coffee and croissants are outstanding, and if you have time, hit up the crepe station. From there, the city is yours to explore. But don’t leave without a snack for the road. The Marché makes great sandwiches and salads you can toss in your bag for later.

Market Lunch

If you come to the Marché for an afternoon, you’ll get to see Toronto’s suit-and-tie crowd, as the Marché is a popular spot for Bay Street traders. If you have time to people watch, it’s a great place to do it. And now that the sun’s out, grab yourself a spot on the patio and see the city go by.

Dinner stations

Pre-show, pre-game or pre-party, the Marché is a great spot to fill up. The dining room’s full of life, the food stations do interesting things every night and the location can’t be beaten. A $10 Uber ride from the restaurant will get you pretty much anywhere you want to go. And, of course, if all you want to do is go back to your room, crawl under the covers and watch a bit of TV, you’re 90 seconds away.
